Officina Vocis
A passion for choral music brings together ladies from Asti and Cuneo provinces in the Officina Vocis choir under the direction of Mario Dellapiana. The choir’s repertoire includes both sacred and secular music, in particular that of the post-romantic period, and includes 20th century pop-music. It has commissioned pieces from Sergio Marciano [we didn’t call him “Don” in the composers section], Fabio Mengozzi, as well as the director himself.
The choir’s regular musical activities include taking part in festivals and themed concerts with local groups and schools. It gives two concerts every year, in Spring and Autumn, with invited foreign performers as part of the Neive Choral Festival. Since 2014 it has partnered the San Secondo choir for our Christmas concerts.
The " MELOS Filarmonica " Orchestra was founded in 2010. It is an offshoot of the " MELOS ArteMusica " cultural association, a musical training centre which has run international music workshops every summer since 2005.
The orchestra’s brings together the association’s teachers, summer workshop participants, and young Piedmontese professional musicians under the leadership of Giuseppe Santoro, its artistic director, for ambitious projects that realise the potential of all concerned. It has supported the Choir of San Secondo since 2014 in its Christmas and Spring concerts.
